We seek to provide all of Costa Rica's youngest public sector students with the skills an eager reader, writer, critical thinker and productive citizen entails. By engaging teachers in high quality professional development, we strive to minimize the growing gap between public and private educational systems. Participating educators shall acquire the competences necessary to captivate students in meaningful transformational learning processes. Every child in Costa Rica deserves a bright future! Let’s do this together!

Actualiza professional development courses are designed to provide teachers with much needed research-based best practices to promote the development of critical thinking skills and to make learning an enriching and transformational experience for all learners.
Bibliotecas Actualiza aims to provide rural, low-income communities with school libraries. These libraries are crucial for children to develop a true love for reading.
The main purposes of the Actualiza Association are the following:
1 - Reduce the social gap by improving the quality of education in the public sector.
2 - Identify weak points in preschool and elementary school public education that can be remedied with teacher training programs.
3 - Promote the optimum implementation of the curriculum in such a way that the social gap does not prevent anyone from receiving a quality formal education in preschool and elementary.
