During to the ongoing worldwide pandemic, many children have had to stop coming to our center. Furthermore, numerous parents have been suspended or fired from their work, consequently their socioeconomic situation has worsened significantly. To help them in this situation we have developed a campaign to support these families, trying to alleviate their expenses by covering their basic food needs through a grocery supply.

To help them in this situation we have developed a campaign to support these families, trying to alleviate their expenses by covering their basic food needs through a grocery supply. Providing them with food will support them in practicing the social distancing the government is recommending.
On, March 28, we made the first distribution of the grocery supplies. Thanks to the donations of many people, we were able to offer 10 families this benefit.
We are currently continuing the fundraising campaign, we hope to support more families in need.
Luz de Cristo Children's Center is a Comprehensive Care Center subsidized by government funds from the institutions of the National Children's Board (PANI) and the Social Protection Board (JPS) of Costa Rica.
We are dedicated to children’s care from the ages of 3 to 9 years old in the Alajuelita area (Costa Rica) whose families live in low socioeconomic condition.
In our program we have an interdisciplinary approach team. We provide children with stimulation, academic support, psychological attention, dance, music and martial arts classes. Our goal is for them to have a safe environment where they can be taken care of in all their needs. With this service their parents can work and study knowing that their children are under good care.
