Ensena Por Costa Rica (ExCR) is dedicated to helping all children fulfill their potential by disrupting the inequities that exist in education and in society. We contribute to achieving this vision by recruiting and developing the nation’s best young talent from all fields to teach for two years in low-income communities: transforming learning, opening pathways to greater opportunity and strengthening schools and communities.

ExCR is a member of Teach For All, a global network of 60 independent, locally led and governed partner organizations that work to eradicate education inequities around the globe.
We are currently raising funds to support the following programs:
This program provides teachers in Costa Rica a cross-cultural learning and teaching practicum experience that expands their skills and confidence implementing progressive pedagogical techniques in the Pre-K-8 classroom. This 2-week experience uses a hands-on learning and teaching approach to build skills in progressive and culturally responsive pedagogical techniques like; project and place based learning, liberatory education, child-directed learning, SEL, etc.
Funds raised go to offset travel and program costs for Costa Rican participants.
The Summer Fun Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to CAMP PURA VIDA for both local children in Costa Rica and urban scholars from school partners in the US. Participants receive 1 or 2 weeks of summer learning exploring an array of topics: Spanish, English, eco-sustainability, oceanography, flora and fauna, cooking, sports and more.
Funds raised offset the cost of tuition, food and field trips for families of students who would not otherwise be able to afford to attend.
