We were founded as an organization with a clear focus on prevention. We work with girls facing vulnerable conditions in urban communities, where opportunities are scarce. Our mission is to empower these girls to discover their inner strength, make informed decisions, and take control of their futures. Our program is continuous, encouraging girls to remain engaged year after year, fostering long-term personal growth and development.
We directly impact girls through our signature programs, "Club Niña" (for girls in grades 1-6) and "Club Cole" (for girls in grades 7-12). Currently, these programs are offered in three communities in the county of Desamparados and one in Pavas, all located in the province of San José.
Our long-term goal is to expand our reach across the country to benefit as many girls as possible.
Each week, our clubs provide a safe, two-hour space for girls in grades 1 through 12 (ages 6-19). In this space, we support girls in building positive self-image and self-esteem while helping them gain a better understanding of healthy relationships.
The clubs focus on life skills such as respect, critical thinking, empathy, and conflict resolution. Additionally, we offer special sessions on a variety of topics, including STEAM, music, environmental education, dance, and more.
We rely on the support of our friends in the United States and around the world to continue our work. Every donation directly contributes to the costs of running all of our girls' clubs. With your help, we aim to impact more than 225 girls in 2025 and beyond.
“In Club Niña they taught me to defend myself, because rights are for everyone.”
– Yasmin, 12
“I wish Club Niña was every day and not just once a week.”
–Valeria, 6
“I am very happy and grateful. So happy that she found Soy Niña and happy with how she interacts and makes friends now. Also, they talk about topics that one sometimes cannot explain to our daughters.”
–Zully, Participant's Mother
